The largest EV manufacturer Tesla has recalled more than 12 lakh units of Model S and X in the US, which were developed in the year between 2023 and 2023. The report says the issue has been addressed by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), claiming it would increase the risk of danger. It has pointed out EVs for not complying with federal safety norms.

To deal with the situation and to solve the problem, the company has initiated a free over-the-air (OTA) update.

Auto Pilot Defect

Meanwhile, this is not the first time, the Elon Musk-owned company has recalled its model in such a large number for some issues. Recently, the EV maker recalled more than 2 million vehicles in the US, which is considered one of the largest recalls in history. It was reported that the decision was taken after witnessing some defects in its autopilot mode as it was not able to function properly due to some technical defect.

The report says the recall order was taken to install some software updates, providing electric-powered cars with more safeguards.

Past Recalls

Earlier, in July, Tesla also recalled somwhere around 16,000 of the Model S and Model X, which were introduced between 2021-2023 in the US. It was reported that customers raised a concern over the front-row seat belt issue after being repaired.
