With two successful feature films–and a threequel racing into cinemas this holiday–Sonic the Hedgehog has become one of the hottest video game adaptations of the last couple of years. If you’re looking for some more entertainment starring Sega’s Blue Blur, you can grab a preorder right now for Sonic Prime: Season 2 ahead of its August release.
$20
Priced at $20, Season 2 has eight episodes and follows Sonic after a battle with Dr. Eggman. After Sonic accidentally broke the Paradox Prism, the Shatterverse was created and it’s up to the hedgehog to explore the alternate dimensions known as Shatterspaces to find the Prism shards. The only catch? Each Shatterspace is inhabited by alternative versions of Sonic’s friends, but there are no Sonic variants in this multiverse.
In case you missed it, you can also pick up the first season of the show for $13.60, and we’ve listed a few other Sonic series below if you’re looking to expand your collection. For some Saturday morning cartoon fun, The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog is still a weird and goofy series starring Sonic and Tails, while Sonic Underground pairs the speedster up with his siblings Manic and Sonia as they battle Dr. Robotnik by transforming their magical medallions into musical instrument weapons.
Then there’s Sonic X, an anime series that ran from 2003-2005. Teleported to Earth and separated from his friends, Sonic has to repeatedly battle Eggman for control of the almighty Chaos Emeralds. Finally, you can have some live-action fun with a two-pack of the recent Sonic the Hedgehog movies on 4K Blu-ray (steelbook case included). These are fun adventures starring Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, although Jim Carrey steals every scene he’s in as the villainous Eggman.
