Do you know how two-wheeler manufacturers attract buyers? To attract customers, two-wheeler manufacturers often highlight mileage efficiency at the time of sale. However, few brands undertake post-purchase mileage reality checks to verify actual performance.
Yamaha’s Mileage Reality Test Yields Impressive Results
A recent mileage verification test of Yamaha’s hybrid motorcycles, conducted in Koderma district of Jharkhand, delivered unexpectedly positive outcomes. The Yamaha FZS-FI Hybrid, tested by AR Enterprises Yamaha showroom located on the Jhumri Telaiya bypass road, exceeded customer expectations.
Amit Kumar, who purchased the hybrid model roughly six weeks ago, reported an exceptionally smooth riding experience. He cited low fuel consumption, attributing it to the vehicle’s Smart Motor Generator technology. Features such as a 4.2-inch digital console with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation support, weather updates, call and SMS alerts, music control, and a digital speedometer contributed to enhanced rider comfort.
His vehicle achieved a notable mileage of 72 kilometres per litre, aligning precisely with Yamaha’s stated performance benchmarks.
Mileage Test Procedure
According to showroom operator Abhishek Kumar Pandey, Area Sales Manager Zeeshan Shan, and Head Service Engineer Javed Shan, customers who had purchased Yamaha motorcycles within the past one to three months were invited to participate.
After refuelling, 11 motorcyclists set off from the showroom, maintaining a speed of 50–60 km/h on a route that included the bypass road and national highway, with a return loop via Telaiya Dam, covering a distance of approximately 37 to 38 kilometres.
Each motorcycle was tested individually, with mileage results ranging from 62 to 72 km/litre. Achieving close to 70 km/litre from a 150cc motorcycle surprised and impressed both customers and company representatives.
Key Features Of The Yamaha FZS-FI Hybrid
The Yamaha FZS-FI Hybrid boasts a traction control system designed to prevent skidding and reduce the likelihood of serious accidents, alongside an anti-lock braking system to enhance control and stability. Proper tyre inflation is essential for optimal mileage performance.
The manufacturer has also introduced a ‘Protection Plus Scheme’, which offers a 10-year engine warranty. To purchase the vehicle, buyers only need to provide their Aadhaar and PAN cards. With a strong CIBIL score, buyers can avail of finance schemes requiring a down payment of anywhere from Rs 0 to Rs 15,000. A cash discount of Rs 5,000 is also available. The ex-showroom price of the hybrid motorcycle in Koderma stands at approximately Rs 1,45,500.
