With this partnership, IKEA and EKA Mobility are taking significant strides towards a greener future, aligning EKA’s cutting-edge EV technology with IKEA’s sustainability mission.

EKA Mobility, a top player in electric vehicle (EV) industry, has partnered with IKEA to power up its last-mile delivery fleet in India with electric vans.

This partnership, backed by major investors Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Japan) and VDL Groep (Netherlands), is set to drive a greener future in logistics.

So far, EKA has delivered 10 electric vans to IKEA, with plans to expand the fleet across various regions in India. This move is a key part of IKEA’s global effort to cut carbon emissions and achieve a fully electrified delivery network.

Switching to electric vans is set to slash IKEA’s carbon footprint, making its logistics operations more sustainable. EKA’s vans feature advanced battery technology, promising efficient and reliable service in urban areas. This collaboration not only helps IKEA meet its sustainability goals but also sets a new benchmark for the retail industry in adopting electric mobility.

Rohit Srivastava, Chief Growth Officer at EKA Mobility, commented, “By supplying IKEA with our advanced electric delivery vans, we are not only contributing to a cleaner environment but also showcasing the potential of electric vehicles in transforming the logistics industry. We are committed to continuing our collaboration with IKEA and look forward to expanding our efforts in the near future.”

Saiba Suri, Country Customer Fulfilment Manager at IKEA India, added, “As we grow in India with an EV first approach, IKEA India is now more prepared to address the challenges related to it and committed to investing in long-term, innovative solutions. We’re truly grateful for partners who share this vision with us.”

This partnership marks a major step forward in IKEA’s journey towards sustainability, with EKA’s advanced electric vehicles perfectly aligning with IKEA’s goal to reduce its environmental impact while achieving operational excellence.
