Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead is one of the best comic series of all time. The harrowing tale of a group of survivors trying to eke out an existence in the midst of a zombie apocalypse ran for 193 issues from 2003 to 2019, and you can grab the entire award-winning run across four massive compendiums for only $104 at Amazon for a limited time. Kirkman fans can also get all three similarly huge Invincible compendiums for only $85.
Each of the four 1,000-plus page Walking Dead Compendium editions carries a $60 list price, but you’ll only pay an average of $26 per book. The Invincible Compendium editions retail for $65, but your price will be roughly $28 per book.

You can pick up The Walking Dead Compendium One for just $25.38. Compendiums Two, Three, and Four are all discounted as well–and even better, those three are also eligible for Amazon’s B2G1 free book promotion that runs through October 12. The B2G1 free deal is automatically applied when you add three eligible items to your cart, and credits you for the lowest-price item of the three. Thanks to these discounts and the B2G1 deal, you can get all four compendiums–which contain all 193 issues–for just $104, which is a sizable discount from the $240 you’d pay if buying all four at their normal $60 list prices.
All 193 issues of The Walking Dead were written by Kirkman, and the vast majority of the series was illustrated by Charlie Adlard. The first six issues in Compendium One were illustrated by series co-creator Tony Moore.
While The Walking Dead is Kirkman’s most famous work–in large part thanks to the popularity of AMC’s The Walking Dead live-action TV series adaptation–Invincible has become a big name in its own right. Remarkably, both of these long-running comics debuted in 2003. Invincible’s run came to a close in 2018, one year prior to The Walking Dead.
All 144 issues of Invincible are collected in three paperbacks, two of which are even longer than any of The Walking Dead Compendiums. All three Invincible Compendium Editions are available for around 40% off, but since they are eligible for Amazon’s B2G1 free book sale, you’ll save an additional $42.
Invincible was notable for turning the concept of cape-and-tights superheroes on its head, representing the super-powered “heroes” as violent and corrupt.
Like The Walking Dead, Invincible has been adapted for TV. Prime Video’s animated adaptation quickly became a hit when it premiered in 2021. The second season aired earlier this year, and Amazon has already renewed Invincible through Season 4. There was a fairly big gap between the first two seasons, so you should have plenty of time to read 3,000-plus pages of the original comics.
