This year’s Warhammer Skulls showcase was packed with exciting announcements and updates, including the reveal of Warhammer 40k: Boltgun 2, the sequel to 2023 pixelated boomer shooter Boltgun, coming in 2026, and an unexpected Boltgun spinoff. With all this Warhammer 40k: Boltgun news, there’s never been a better time to jump into the retro FPS, and thanks to Humble, you can do so for a major discount. To coincide with this news, Humble has knocked 40% off the original Boltgun, meaning you can pick up this old-school shooter for under $14 / £12.
Auroch Digital’s Warhammer 40k: Boltgun is easily one of the best Warhammer 40k games available. Blending the pixelated, old-school visuals of ’90s shooters with Doom-like frenetic gameplay and the Warhammer 40k universe, Boltgun is an adrenaline-pumping boomer shooter that offers some serious nostalgia.
You play as Malum Caedo, a Space Marine on a perilous mission to find a shard from a mysterious power source on Graia, a Forge World dominated by heretics: cultists, traitors, chaos daemons, and your usual big bad types. Let’s be honest though, your real job is to take out every living being that has the misfortune of entering your eyeline. You scour the world and purge the heretics you come across using your powerful arsenal of shotguns, Meltaguns, Heavy Bolters, devastating grenades, and more. You’ll also pick up more powerful weapons and equipment as you go, making you an unstoppable, unmerciful force to be reckoned with.
If you enjoy this splatterfest, you’re in luck, as Boltgun 2 was revealed during the Warhammer Skulls Showcase on Thursday, May 22, 2025 and is due to launch next year. While we don’t know too much about it yet, we do know it will offer more bloody retro romping through alien worlds.
To help you prepare for this killer sequel, Humble Bundle has knocked 40% off Boltgun’s usual $21.99 / £18.99 price tag, letting you pick up this brilliant boomer shooter for just $13.19 / £11.39 – and saving you $8.80 / £7.60. That’s enough savings to pick up the Forges of Corruption DLC, and still have some change.
This deal ends on Wednesday, May 28, so act fast to take advantage of it while you can. We don’t know when the game will next be on sale.
