There never seems to be a real shortage of worthwhile strategy games to check out. Over the last year, we’ve had Frostpunk 2 and Civilization 7 launch, with Manor Lords, Homeworld 3, and Age of Mythology: Retold come out as well. With all of these newer options, it’s easy for older entries to the genre to get lost in the shuffle, including the excellent post-apocalyptic city builder Endzone 2 and its equally compelling predecessor, Endzone: A World Apart. Anyone looking to give the series a try is in luck right now, though, as the first Endzone is currently available with a massive discount that brings its price down to just $3.
Endzone: A World Apart first came out in 2021, offering a gritty spin on the strategy game genre. In it, players are tasked with trying to build and maintain a new civilization in a world where climate collapse has rendered the Earth almost totally inhospitable. Doing so involves the usual genre activities of resource gathering and settlement management, but Endzone also requires dealing with unique hazards.
The game’s apocalyptic setting sees natural perils like drought and toxic rain appear, as well as other threats such as marauding raiders and radiation. To grow their civilization, players will need to build houses and infrastructure, assign jobs to their settlement’s population, and complete objectives that can involve protecting expeditions as they head out into the wasteland to help their hometown thrive.
Endzone: A World Apart is available with a 90% discount from now until Wednesday April 23, making it just $2.99 USD / £2.59. Grab a copy on Steam right here.
