The beloved sci-fi graphic novel series Saga is on sale as part of Amazon’s Cyber Monday event. You can pick up the Saga Box Set: Volumes 1-9 for $67.44–a nearly 50% discount compared to its normal $125 list price. Alternatively, you can get a single-volume paperback compendium of Volumes 1-9 for $33.56, which is also nearly a 50% discount from its $60 list price. This doorstopper of a book is 1,328 pages.
Written by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Fiona Staples, Saga tells the tale of two lovers–Marko and Alana–who fight on opposing sides of a galactic war but desert their posts to be together and now must live as planet-hopping fugitives. The setting mixes sci-fi elements like robots and starships with fantasy and magic, while grounding it all with humanistic drama and humor. The ongoing series debuted in 2012 and remains among the best-selling and acclaimed modern comics series.
If you’ve ever been curious about Saga or are looking for some well-written comics aimed at older readers, this box set deal is the perfect chance to pick up most of the series in one collection. The box set includes the first nine volumes of the story, which will catch you up with most of the story so far. From there, you can pick up Volumes 10 and 11, both of which are also on sale and eligible for Amazon’s Buy Two, Get One Free sale on select books and Blu-rays.
The tale doesn’t end there, however. New issues are still coming out, and the next trade paperback collection, Saga Volume 12, is planned to launch on April 15, 2025. It’s not included in the sale, but you can preorder it for $17 at Amazon.
Saga isn’t the only Brian K. Vaughan graphic novel deal you can get at Amazon right now. The 1,440-page Ex Machina: The Complete Series Omnibus is on sale for $80 (was $150), and Paper Girls: The Complete Story is down to $30 (was $50).
