The brand has discontinued the Convertible Top variants, cutting down the choices. The list includes AX 4WD and the LX variants that come with an open differential.

Ever since the Mahindra Thar was released in the market, it has receved an overwhelming response from the customers. After the launch of Thar Roxx, the company decided to trim the range, and discontinue some of the variants in the three-door Thar range.
It has been reported that the brand has discontinued the Convertible Top variants, cutting down the choices. The list includes AX 4WD and the LX variants that come with an open differential. It was launched at the starting price of Rs 11.50 lakh, while the top version is priced at Rs 17.60 lakh (all ex-showroom).
Total Variants
The company has launched the Mahindra Thar in a total of 19 variants. After cutting the Convertible Top variants, AX 4WD variants, and LX variants with an open differential in the range, the customers now left with only limited options to choose from. Those who are interested can purchase the entry-level AX trim only in RWD form, which has been paired with the 1.5-litre diesel engine.
Meanwhile, the brand is gearing up to release Thar’s facelift. The reports say that the model has been codenamed W515. It is expected to hit the market somewhere in 2026. It will be a mid-cycle refresh update that will make the off-roader look better and bolder as compared to the outgoing version.
Style Statement
It will flaunt a similar style statement as Thar Roxx and borrow some of its advanced features. It will get a larger infotainment touchscreen with all the wireless car connect technology, a fully a digital instrument cluster, and a decent sized a sunroof on hard-top variants. The engine specs will remain the same.
