A Rings Of Power Actor Stepped Away From Acting And Won’t Return For Season 2

As fans prepare for the return of Prime Video’s The Rings of Power, they might be gaining Rory Kinnear as the fan-favorite character Tom Bombadil, but a Season 1 cast member has confirmed she won’t be returning. Nazanin Boniadi, who played Bronwyn, won’t be in the new episodes for Season 2.

THR reports that the actor won’t be in the upcoming season as she’ll continue focusing on her activism. She explained on her Instagram she’d been working with the Woman Life Freedom uprising in Iran and stepped away from acting in late 2022, putting her energy into advocating for the people of her homeland and only taking on passion projects.

“Despite my passion for acting, I knew it would take a very special project to convince me to once again split my time between my day job and my calling as an activist. A Mosquito in the Ear is that project–an adaptation of the Italian graphic novel Una Zanzara nell’Orecchio from Andrea Ferraris, and the feature directorial debut from the extremely talented BAFTA Newcomer Director, Nicola Rinciari,” she wrote.

“Nico, the producers, the crew and my incredible co-stars made filming this movie–in magical Goa, India–a beautiful adventure that we can’t wait to share with you,” she added. “I’m very proud to also serve as an executive producer on this film.”

Bronwyn is a human healer and Theo’s (Tyroe Muhafidin) mother. She and elf warrior Arondir (Ismael Cruz Cordova) had a forbidden romance as her townsfolk were still wary of his kind. Bronwyn, Theo, and Arondir were missing from the Season 1 finale, but Cordova and Muhafidin are confirmed back for new episodes in the new season.
